A Fundraiser Benefitting the Washington-Centerville Public Library
April 26, 2025
The Golf Club at Yankee Trace
10000 Yankee Street, Centerville
Make a play for a fantastic cause by joining hometown hero Kirk Herbstreit in supporting an expansion of the Washington-Centerville Public Library’s Creativity Commons!
Imagine a place where resources such as 3-D printers, embroidery machines and laser cutters are accessible for community members to turn their ideas into reality. Creativity Commons is a place for exploration, experimentation and imagination! Generated within Creativity Commons are designs made by entrepreneurs to promote their small businesses, art projects crafted by students, STEM education, hobbies and beyond.
The goal of this exciting gathering is to raise $110,000 toward growing and relocating Creativity Commons from its current 780 square foot home at the Washington Township RecPlex to a state-of-the-art, 3,500 square foot space within the library. This move will allow greater access to innovative tools, advanced technology and educational programs aimed at fostering inventiveness for all ages.
The voice of college football for nearly three decades, Kirk Herbstreit first earned accolades as a quarterback at Centerville High School then at The Ohio State University. He has been a lead analyst on ESPN’s nine-time Sports Emmy Award-winning College GameDay for 28 years, and in 2021, published his memoir, “Out of Pocket: Football, Fatherhood, and College GameDay Saturdays.”
While sharing inspiring stories from his life’s journey on and off the football field, Herbstreit will be joined by emcee and sister, Teri Herbstreit, and interviewer Ryan Hawk, another acclaimed Centerville High School alum and star quarterback. Hawk is now a bestselling author, keynote speaker, and host of an Apple Podcast “Best-Seller” program The Learning Leader Show, which regularly ranks as the #1 Business Podcast in the world.
